Keep Humpin.....

Good Hump Day Sparkfam! I had a somewhat interesting day, I had a few dips in my day but I tried to keep my emotions on an evil kilt. It was tough but I am trying to live victoriously. Some times it works fine but then there are times when I am all over the place.

I did wake up & gave myself 50mins of fitness, I did 30mins of step blast & then cooled down. I was still sweaty but dressed appropriately to take Shadow on a walk. By the time I was cooling down he was whining a little. I knew it was time....

I am watching Royal Pains right now but about to get up & do the treadmill. I ate too much junk food this week. I had loads of guacamole, chips, honey buns & enchiladas.So tomorrow I am doing kickboxing trying to burn some of the fat from super bowl, can this be done? No, I need to focus & move on.... lol

    OMG honey buns I can touch that. Diabetes is no joke. As long as my hubbie don't buy them I am ok but I need to to ok if he does.

    Chips and salsa got a hold of me after my workout...almost seems like a waste, but I know I just have to keep pushing on over the hump....I am going to do 2 workout classes tomorrow!! emoticon

    Hormones seem to be wreaking havoc with many of us this week! Yesterday's lunch was a personal size Pizza Hut cheese pizza from Target while baby shower shopping - rushing to get back to a meeting and not being in the mood for the healthy lunch I had back at the office. It tasted great going down, but did not agree with me the rest of the day! Was it punishing me?? Made sure I had a healthy vegetarian dinner! Too many extra glasses of wine this week....not enough sleep, not enough exercise....

    Graet Blog Dee! and awesome job working out!!!! I too ate too much (over the weekend) and I am trying to behave the rest of this wek, it's ahrd though b/c (I have pms) I know TMI!!!! and I have the munchies like crazy! I have been taking Casey for some nice walks, except weds I noticed she was limping when we started so I decided to give her foot a rest, hopefully she will be ok today.     Doesn't exercise help us deal with the ups & downs? What would we do without it?!! Maybe become violent!

    On Sunday I went to a meeting with a bunch of Colombia women (I'm the token "gringa"), & we were each given a little bag of candies--chocolates & a couple of Colombian treats. I knew it was not a good idea but I did it anyway: I ate them ALL that same day! That's what has me humpin'.

    Today I ate lunch at Grace African Restaurant in Uptown; it's Ghanaian food & was SO GOOD!! Fried fish, spicy beans, fried plantains, & a little tomato-green pepper-avocado chop salad. (I hardly ever have fried food, so I just thoroughly enjoyed it & didn't feel guilty.) A woman who was waiting to order came over to me & said, "It's so nice that you came here to try our food! Have you ever had African food before?" I said yes, a few times, & once I ate at a specifically Ghanaian restaurant in DC & loved it. She was so happy that she gave me a hug! I guess not very many non-African folks eat there--I'm going to recommend it to my friends so they get more diverse customers.

    I have some leftovers for my lunch tomorrow, which makes me very happy. emoticon
