I trapped another raccoon last night! This makes the third one, and the second in a month. I don't know how they are getting in! I was tempted to tie a string around it's neck and let it go, then follow the string. But the string would probably break and I would have to try to catch it again.
I don't know what is so special about our house to attract them or why they feel the need to make themselves at home. I remember reading about the hobo's that rode the trains. They would leave markings on the side walk in front of houses to let others know if they would get a handout or not. I wonder if the animal kingdom has this same principle. Maybe I've been marked by the raccoon kingdom as a safe house.
Maybe that's what my next job will be. Raccoon whisperer?!

Better a coon than a skunk!! We have them!! The coons ahve not been around since the skunk came,, or the woodchcuk until our dog killed that,, toss about five pounds of mothballs in that cage and at the basement windows.. make the coon suffer for awhile,,
Jeez Alan, you're not suppose to roll out the red carpet for them and make a five course dinner!! Spray full strength vinegar on him,, a LOT of it!!

Ha Ha Ha!!! Raccoon Whisperer! Maybe you could whisper in their ears and tell them to stay in the woods? I have never heard of having them in the house.

When I was a child, though, we lived near woods, and one came and climbed our screen door in the middle of the night, rattling it and scaring my Mother to death!
