So, it has been almost one month of being Gluten-free and 16 days of being Cymbalta free.
I am feeling FANTASTIC!! - on an overall basis!! I do however experience occasional days where I am having headaches, nausea, body aches, moodiness, that go above and beyond my Fibro levels. What I am thinking this is or can possibly be is the "hidden Gluten" that I have not rooted out yet.
My daughter and I have done a really good job of shopping and watching everything that we eat, cleaning out our pantry, eating Only G-F foods, making sure that everything is Marked G-F or specifically states "No Wheat". But what we have not done is make sure that the non-food items are G-F.
I have picked up a purse sized book to assist us in grocery shopping and it is of great help. But it does not do all the work for us. Now I have to call the manufacturers for a couple of our supplements and decide what to do with some of our products that we use.
We are using non gluten-free body wash, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, face wash. I have not checked our make-up yet. Thankfully out toothpaste, mouthwash, and chap sticks are all okay.
Unfortunately, I have a couple of medications that I take daily that are NOT on the G-F list. I will have to call them on Monday to see if they are okay to take or I will have to make a decision on them. And then I will have to make a detailed inventory of all our medications to see which ones are okay to take and which ones we need to switch out.
I would not have guessed a month ago that I would have felt this good right now, just by going Gluten-free. I should have done this years ago! I so yearn for foods that are my favorites, and funnily enough, we crave foods that we don't even necessarily like or enjoy! But we know that we cannot eat them anymore, so we want them! Isn't that how it always works! We are definitely still working on finding what pastas work for us, and what crackers will satisfy us when we do not feel good. But we are making a good transition, and we know that this will be a lifelong eating choice.
So, Here is to new lifestyles!
