The first month of 2012 has come and gone. Time to evaluate how I did with my goals, and to add two new ones for February.
1. Drink 80oz of water per day- 93%
2. Walk on my days off (4 days per week)- 93%
3. Get at least 7 hours of sleep per night- 50%
I know that I should be trying for 100% and an unbroken streak, but I am very happy with any thing over 90%. I am focusing on the positives:
• I have increased my walking speed; I have gone from 19-20min/mile to 18-19min/mile.
• I am still struggling with getting enough sleep, but even when I don’t, I wake up feeling rested more often than not.
• I feel more in control.
My over all weight loss for the month is 4.2 lbs. I am trying to not be disappointed, I have done much better in the past, but to congratulate myself for doing so well with out being able to track my calorie intake. The food tracker here is SUCH a valuable tool, I have missed it while my computer was out of commission.
February is going to be a big month for me. I am counting down to the Great Aloha Run on February 20th. I will be walking, not running, but I would like to finish it in less than 3 hours. At my current pace, it is definitely do-able, but I haven’t walked that many continuous miles before (8.15), and I don’t know if I can keep it up the whole time.
The goals I am going to add for February are fitness related:
• Do EA Fitness Trainer for Wii 2x a week
• Go up and down the stairs for 10 minutes on my lunch break.
I want to increase my intensity and to start doing strength training, and the Fitness Trainer is a great mix of cardio and strength exercises. It actually has a set 9 week program, but it calls for 4x a week, and I don’t want to over do, since the “easy” 20 minute sets kicks my okole.
I also took my measurements this week. Since I did not take them in January, I don’t know if I may have lost inches. I am hoping a loss in that area will help if I don’t loose the pounds I want.
My computer is fixed (I did the Happy-happy, Joy-joy dance). Here’s to being able to log in my meals! I don’t like trying to estimate how many calories I am eating. I never feel confident about my numbers, I feel better with hard data. I am also hoping that my friend might be willing to try SP. He was working with a personal trainer at 24 Hour Fitness a couple of years ago. He said it helped to have that guidance, but the whole thing became too expensive for him to maintain. I am hoping that once he sees what a great tool SP is, he will utilize it.
Here’s to a great February, and the chance to meet up with fellow Hawaii Sparkers at the GAR.
