Ok, so it's been a year. I'd lost my motivation, not my dream. May 2011, my endocrinologist prescribed T3 in conjunction with T4 medication. I had it filled at my regular pharmacy and I dropped to 207-211, depending on what I ate the day before I weighed myself. So, I was a little excited to see the scale move...any movement, although fluctuating was progress to me (that's so sad...).
November 2011 rolled around, I had been on the treadmill and elliptical off and on throughout the year; my ankles/calves were still swelling, my knees hurt, shin splints, and lethargy was a daily 'uuughhhh' moment. I weighed in at the dr.'s office, boots, blue jeans, and sweater ... 209. What a bummer! But, endo said that's better than May.... Whatever! I'm tired of trying and trying, constantly thinking about my predicament. I gave up....I was going to start living my life, for enjoyment, rather than how much I weigh.
Then she said, "I'd like to try you on a compound T3 protocol. It's just going to a pharmacy where they 'make up' the medication right there in the pharmacy, not through a 'manufactured' pill company." Okay, fine. Even though I haven't filed through my insurance company, a 90-day supply costs approximately $50. I was willing, since what could it hurt, right?
in 3 months, without changing my eating habits (which aren't horrible, but not dieting either) and NO exercise, I saw 200.0 lbs mid-January. My legs are not swollen, my feet don't hurt, and I have been busier than ever (due to the fact I'm a new grandma - at 40 years old) -- I have ENERGY!!!!!
Today, Feb 3, 2012 I weighed in at 199.6 lbs. I'm so ecstatic! I broke the 200 lb mark! Of course, I did get on the treadmill for 45 minutes at a rate of 3 mph for the first time since, maybe August.... A year ago, Feb 5, 2011, I weighed in at 215. I'm thrilled.
Thank you to my favorite endocrinologist!!!!
