#33 - Day Nine - Wednesday.

Here's Day Nine -

Water: I didn't hit get my eight cups of water in. I got distracted at work in the afternoon which is when I usually drink four cups. I only got to drink two during that time. Oh well. I ended up with seven cups of water which is better than last week. I'm hoping that today I reach the eight mark.

Exercise: So, I tried C25K yesterday. Day One wasn't the best experience. After my first one-minute run, I was feeling good. However, during my second run, I had a very bad asthma attack. It was the worst attack I've ever had. Luckily, I was close enough to home to get my inhaler. I took a few minutes to settle down. During those few minutes, I debated whether or not I should get out there. Part of me was like "Why? The attack messed up the run. You can start over on Friday." The other part of me said "It's ok. You can do a quick walk to warm up again, and you can start back where you left off. You want to do this." I ended up going with the latter with my inhaler in hand. The remainder of the walk/jog wasn't too bad. It was difficult though. I ended up only doing about 2.4 miles in 30 minutes because I was going slow. Is that ok? I'm thinking I may have to repeat Week One again, but we'll see when I get to Day Three.

Food: Another pretty good day. I did well in regards to calories, protein, cholesterol, fat, etc. I went over on my carbs though. That's ok. I will try better today.

Sleep: I was exhausted yesterday, so I ended up laying down at 9:30pm. Guess what that means?! I got eight and a half hours of sleep! FINALLY! I could do a dance because I am so happy! Honestly, I feel a difference too.

Wednesday's Daily Goals:

1. 30 minutes of cardio. emoticon
2. Drink six cups of water. emoticon
3. Get eight hours of sleep. emoticon
4. Try a new sleeping habit. (Go to bed earlier.) emoticon

---------------------------
So, yesterday went pretty well. I'm happy about that!

Tonight is dinner night with Mom. I have a question. She's fixing dinner tonight, but I am not exactly sure what ingredients will be used nor how much. How should I track tonight's dinner? Any suggestions?

Great job! I'm so proud that you kept going even though it was rough. That's how you reach your goals. Keep up the awesome days like this!

2.4 miles in 30 minutes is great! I'm doing about 2.6 miles in 35 - 40 minutes so I would say you're doing amazing. I know how hard it is for me, so you are well on your way!!

Week 2 Day 1 was rough for me. A whole minute is so much longer than it seems, but I did it and I made it - just like you! So proud of you for going back out there and doing it. It might be a good idea to bring your inhaler with you from now on just in case.

Hooray for sleep! I sincerely think exercise helps with getting enough sleep. :) Glad to hear you got your full 8 hrs!

You could ask for the recipie or ask her to estimate what she uses and plan ahead. That way you can also figure out portion control before the meal. If you can't reach her or feel strange about it, just try to break it down as best you can and estimate. I find this website very useful in eyeballing sizes and portions.

I think you did fine with 2.4 miles in 30 minutes! Keep that inhaler with you as you contine, just in case.

Wow, that asthma attack sounds like it was kind of scary, hope you're okay! Take it easy and well done for meeting your goals :) If it's something simple like meat, potatoes, veggies etc, it'll be fairly easy to track, but I know what you mean. Just stick to one plate full and you should be fine. If you feel you've overeaten, don't punish yourself for it, everyone slips up now and then :)

congrats on starting c25k! i'm glad you tried again after you asthma attack. feel free to stretch out the program as needed... i have a feeling i'm going to spend 2 weeks at the 5 minute intervals! it does get easier.

with your mom... maybe you could say something like 'oh that was so good! can i have the recipe?' maybe that would give you an idea of what to track. or maybe you could call her and ask what she's serving, and offer to bring a salad or something too... so if it's something that's high calorie, you can have a smaller portion and eat more of the vegetables. it's hard eating at other people's houses! hope it goes well!

Glad you were able to recover from the asthma attack--take it easy! :) Sounds like you've been doing well: keep it up! As far as dinner, don't worry about. Just get a smaller plate than what she'll be using and drink a cup of water before starting to eat--this will help you feel more full and not overeat. Thankfully one meal doesn't have the power to destroy all your hard work.
