I am having difficulties getting enough protein in my diet. I do not eat red meat or poultry. This is a choice (nothing to do with religion or animal rights). I eat a lot of vegetables and fruits but they do not provide enough proteins. I do eat nuts. I do not take any vitamin supplements.

Thanks for comments. Today I was able to meet my protein requirements by adding grains and nuts to my diet. I also had a 4 0z. fillet of salmon. I will be purchasing a protein drink. I thought about adding eggs but I am not sure about the cholesterol count.

You didn't mention fish - do you eat fish/seafood? You can get some good protein (and some healthy omega 3s) via fish. If not, there are of course other options, though it can definitely be harder to get enough protein without meat. My husband is a vegetarian (the idea of meat kind of grosses him out) and he gets a fair amount of protein from stuff like hummus, peanut butter, dairy products, eggs, and fake meat products. Good luck! :)
