Sunday I started on the road of Joel Fuhrman, M,D.'s "Eat to Live" diet:: unlimited green veggies, fruit and beans; limited grains, nuts, off limits animal protein, dairy, fruit juice, oils, coffee, alcohol and solt.
Made up two of the recommended recipes for dressing/dip. Both good but, I can see where I might personally change the spicing next time I whip one up.
Breakfast has become a banana plus something else (it is winter and those steel cut oats are looking like part of my grain allowance).
On this particular diet, "Salad is the Main Dish". Lunch is a HUGE salad. What I find interesting here is that (at least so far) at 3 p.m. when I was normally, really ready for that glass of wine... the urge wasn't there. Hoping this aspect hangs in there as those wine calories were really cramping my dieting effort.
The coffee piece is actually a tad more difficult. Monday and Tuesday I work up with a slight headache (had been warned about this). Strategy is to take a half a cup. Even at a half cup of coffee, I am down so much from where I was with the ongoing pot all day.
Hard to say where it all goes but, so far so good.
