In January I missed my exercise and weight loss goals. As the weather changes, my leg swells as a result of the surgery, so the scales have moved like a yo-yo. I do know that they are showing a decrease over the month, but not the 5 or 6 pounds that I had hoped to lose! Last week's bronchitis definitely knocked a hole in my exercise routine, but I am gradually getting back on track with that. Hopefully February will go much better, and I will continue to gain strength and stamina.
I also am going to be more faithful in tracking my food this month. Since the surgery in November, I definitely need to keep track of the sodium intake--hopefully that will help me keep the swelling under control.
Unless the doctor tells me otherwise, I plan to increase the bike riding so I'm riding 30 to 45 minutes continuously by the end of the month. If he doesn't recommend that course of action, I'll try to start making 2 trips to the Y to get shorter periods of exercise.
I can get the weight off if I will stick to the plan!
