To say that life has taken me on a roller coaster over the weekend and the past few days...would be an understatement.

I dont want to get into it all, but, home life is messy, work is messy...so stressed, that for the first time in my life, I'm getting a fever blister on my lip, and for the first time EVER and I mean EVER, I dont have an appetite.

I took today off to breathe, but even that isnt doing me too much good.

I do have good news, and those of you that read my friend feed update already know, but I still want to share. I've decided to take the plunge.

I'm going to be going back to school, getting a bachelor of science degree, then going to optometry school, and becoming a DR.!! WHOOOOOA too fun to type.

The deal? Its going to take me a looooooooooooong time to complete. Why you ask? first, I wont be doing school full time. I cant handle it along with work full time. School is TOUGH for me, and I couldnt handle stress of both. But? Not letting that stop me. If it takes me 8 or 10 years, so be it.

I'm excited about it, I applied to the community college today, and will take online classes to help me out so i wont have to try and rush to class.

In other news, not much else to really report. Havent worked out since friday, not feeling up to it, and my stomach has been killing me, along with not eating...not exactly feelin strong.

So! Heres to the roller coaster coming to an end...please lord in the very near future!

    How exciting!!!

Have you ever heard the saying "You're future is so bright it burns my eyes." I heard it from Oprah telling a young girl, I think it was.

I love watching your story unfold.

I'm gonna call you now.

It will be hectic but it is doable, especially with your drive and determination. Sorry to hear of home life still being a constant struggle.... I still think you will be able to move out to your own little space soon. It will be SO good for you. Congrats on your decision, I have total faith in you!!!

You go girl. Set your mind to it and train for it...just like your marathons. You will get through it.

Oh wow! Sorry to hear about the not so great stuff going on, but I'm glad you've made some really exciting decisions for your future.

My cousin is an optometrist (at two different Walmarts in Texas - that's apparently a big deal haha) and I know he was motivated by our family practitioner and he acted as his mentor. Although he talks about the burden that the student loans were, I know he loves what he does.

Going to school and staying fit can be hard, but I know you know how to pack healthy food and fit in a killer workout even after a long day, so I'm sure you'll find the right balance. emoticon

OMG! I can't believe you didn't tell me that today when we were texting. That is so fantastic. Yes, it'll be hectic doing both, but, just think of the outcome. I'm so excited for you!!!

Awesome! I love goal setters! Go get 'em. Never let work get you down. I left a job (years ago now) after 18 years where people said "she won't leave, she's a lifer." Since then I've gotten my Masters, moved to CA and am doing just fine. Sometimes it takes a major shift to get what you want! Best of luck to you. KT
