Good morning, friends!
I've been motivated to prepare healthy new recipes lately. I have to say that the SparkPeople Cookbook has been a big help! I like that the reasoning behind eating certain foods is included. I REALLY appreciate that cooking tips are included for folks like me who are new to preparing certain foods, along with where you might FIND these foods! I'll be honest, often I'm wondering just WHAT IS this food!!??!!
The recipes I have tried have been a big hit with my husband too. I got the highest "grade" ever for my roasted chicken the other night! I used a Prevention magazine recipe, but then roasted the chicken using Chef Meg's techniques...the meat comes out so tender, and thoroughly cooked as well. I love trying new spices too, so many flavors I've never combined before! I made the Wheatberry and Brocolli Salad last night, very good.
I think preparing our own foods will be key for my husband and I staying on track with healthful eating. Too many times I've tried "healthy" recipes and been disappointed with the results...not so with the coookbook, at least not so far!
