So the journey begins again. My small little town is doing its best to get everyone up and moving. One way this is happening is by hosting this walking program in our local high school. One of the teachers has mapped out several routes throughout the school to walk. You can walk up and down the main corridor 11 times for a mile, or add in the little wings and do it 3 times for 1 mile. This has been very successful and as of the last 2 years I have succeeded. I should mention our school is 100 miles from the mighty bridge that is in my background picture on my spark page, so we all think we are walking up to the bridge in 100 days. This walking program not only gets people up and moving but it gets them out and being social. It is nice to see them standing and talking after the walking. I got behind 2 women last year, who were slower than me, but they were discussing a recipe, I finally asked one of them to copy it down and bring it tomorrow. She was happy to do it and I think even happier to get me off their heels. Gosh I didn't mean to invade but it sounded so delish! I guess I am blogging about this walk because I am ready to get motivated again, I need something to look forward to, even if it is just totalling my miles on a big chart in a high school cafeteria. I normally love to walk and lately I have loved to not walk, so heres to my kick start! Wish me luck!!!
