A "New" Day

So today I tried a couple new things. First I found a couple exercise videos on Youtube that I wanted to try out. They were Leslie Sansone walking videos from RealAge. They both take 15 minutes and you complete 1 mile in each one. So instead of the exercise bike today I did both videos. I really liked it. They combine a little aerobic activity with the walking so its not boring but its easy enough that I could actually do everything too. After I tried them I emailed the links to my mom so she could try them.

Then, because I'm running out of food in the house I had to get creative again with my supper. I ended up cooking a couple 2 oz. chicken breasts, for my husband & I, and then topped them with some carmelized onions, mushrooms and a little bit of mozzarella. Then served some rice & peas as sides. It was really good. I know its not that creative per se but I'd never made it before so I was pretty happy to have thought of it.

I am struggling to keep drinking 8 cups of water a day. I find myself guzzling water at the end of every day. Makes for a long night... I really like the watermelon water I usually buy but I've been out of it for a couple days & it has really made a difference. Part of the problem, I think, is that while the water bottles & my glasses look the same size, the water bottles actually hold a whole cup more. I think its a lot easier to drink 2 bottles of water instead of 3 1/3 of my glasses. Its amazing how the eyes can deceive the mind.

    I drink 3 cups straight away after waking. I drink another cup with breakfast and I drink another cup after breakfast. I have to get kids washed and dressed and off to school n the morning so I am all over the house but I bring my water with me, every room I go to, and I fill it from the tap as soon as it's empty.
I have usually gotten down 5 glasses before 9am.
It cuts down on my waking in the night to pee, which was irritating me so much I was ready to scream.
Do you suppose you could try taht?
Refilling your glass as soon as it's empty really helps, I find. It's a tip I read in a SP article and it's really done wonders for me.

    good job with the workouts and also trying a new recipe. Funny how you end up trying more foods when you're eating less.

    I love Leslies workouts. I've also got her DVDs. I work up a good 'glow' with them.

    Great job with the work out videos. I have a couple of Leslie Sansone's DVDs. I really like Chris Freitag, too. She does the Prevention DVDs. I agree with the bottle of water vs. a glass. My bottle holds 4 servings of water, and It's much easier to drink 2 bottles vs. 4 full glasses!
