Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! I sure did! There is nothing better than spending time with your family and enjoying everyone’s company. With the weekend in the past now, it is time to start week 16 of my new lifestyle, and it has started off rather well. I lost more weight, some clothes that were once too small are now too big, and my body is starting to talk to me more and more.
Last week I lost just 1.4lbs, but that is perfectly fine with me. My new weight is 279.4lbs, which means I have lost 54.2lbs since October 14th, my BMI has dropped from 44 down to 36.9, and I have dropped from a 46" pant size to a 38" pant size!
I am starting to see major changes in my body, not just in how it looks but how it talks to me too. My stomach is shrinking quickly, which is great because that is where most of my bulk is. I will be a happy camper if I can lose all of my fat from that are first. Not only am I shrinking the fat, I am also building lean muscle.
My arms, shoulders, and my upper legs have seen some major muscle growth over the last 14 weeks. I cannot recall a time when my upper arms were as big and solid as they are now, and the same goes for my upper legs. My thighs are positively solid! I guess all that bike riding is paying off. My wife also mentioned that she had never seen so much definition in my shoulders either! All of this is very exciting indeed. This muscle gain is probably the reason for my lower weight loss, but I am incredibly happy about this.
My body is also talking to me more about the food that I eat, and it is reassuring me that I am doing the right thing. I have absolutely no desire for sweets, which if you know me has always been my biggest weakness. Even when others around me eat them I do not have any cravings.
My body is however craving fruits, vegetables, and even water! Yes, I constantly crave water. Another craving is exercise! My body loves it, and so do I! I genuinely look forward to working out, even when I am having a bad day in regards to my RSD (Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy). I really cannot believe just how much the messages my body is sending out have changed. I am thrilled. I am craving and am doing what I once thought was impossible. If you follow the instructions in the picture below, I promise your body will thank you for it.
This week I am going to shake things up a little. Now that I am fully recovered from my surgery I am going to add heavier weights back into my fitness program. I am going to aim for at least 2 workouts per day, 5 times per week. In the mornings I will do some in home weight training, and then in the evenings I will either ride the bike, or will do a DVD based cardio workout. My wife and I have been using Sparkpeople’s new DVD 28 day Boot Camp and I must say it is rather excellent (review coming soon)
I am really looking forward to the week ahead! I hope that my weight loss continues, and I hope that all of you have a fantastic week too! Make good choices when it comes to food, drink lots of water, and move it to lose it! I know I will be! If I can do it, I know you can too! Just because you do not see results after one day or even a week, DO NOT give up. You may not see changes, but every smart choice you make is affecting you in ways you'd never imagine!
