Clean Slate

Sunday, January 29, 2012

I am starting over - yep, completely over. I spent the last two days I had off from work really cleaning my house out - clutter and long unused items are either trash, donations or in new homes. Still a couple "spots" left to tackle but the majority has been done.

I also set up a dedicated space for exercise. A space that will have no other use so I won't have to search for, move or rearrange before I begin my workout. Excuse number one removed - it can not be any more convenient or easy!

I've been doing smoothies and a combination of paleo and clean eating for a couple weeks now. It is time to really clean things up. I am not making favorite foods completely off limits, but I am making portions small and reminding myself that a treat is just that a small amount now and then.

I had to cancel my trip to Florida for the Princess half. The boiler in our home cracked - it is temporarily repaired but we need to put the trip money to it's replacement, plus a few more thousand we need to save.

I am going for a full-time position at Whole Foods next week, it comes with a significant increase in wages. The consistent extra hours and additional hourly rate will help us to save up all the sooner.

This year feels like a year I want to voluntarily make lean and focus on the things that don't cost money. Eating right, exercising every day and spending time with my family. Our finances before the boiler broke were actually looking really good. The boiler is just a blip, we will save up for that and move on with our other plans.

So here it is....a clean start.

Great job eliminating the excuse of no space for exercising. I, too, have started fresh. I've been a Sparker in the past, but I've let work interfere with my healthy choices. I chose to delete my old account and start fresh today. Best of luck in the future to you!

emoticon emoticon Spring cleaning all ready! WooHoo. i should do a little of that too as I've deviated lately from my policy of nothing new in unless it replaces something else. Having a dedicated room/space for exercise is terrific. Best wishes for your continued success.
