Busy busy busy describes my week.
Apparently I have semi-overbooked myself to the point where I hit utter exhaustion this Friday.
On Wednesday I woke up at 6am, got ready for work, worked 9 hrs, went home to grab my batch cooked dinner, drove an hour to class, had class from 7-10pm, drove my classmate home (this is 30 minutes in the wrong direction from my place, but since she doesn't drive, no one in her family can pick her up, and she's a good friend on mine I am driving her home every Wednesday), then drove an hour back to my place only to wake up and do it all over again on Thursday. The only difference was my classmate doesn't need a ride home on Thursday.
Friday, I again woke up at 6am, had Practicum for 6.5 hrs (1.5 hrs longer then scheduled but it was awesome), then I had to drive 30 minutes to pick up my grandparents from the mall and another 30 minutes back home. Then it was off to pick up the siblings from daycare. By the time I got home with the siblings it was 5pm. Fridays are also "treat" night so my grandpa and I went to buy little Caesars pizza for the family. I did eat a slice, but at that point I was too exhausted to care what I ate. I also got a phone call from the BF reminding me we had an engagement party that night (we both forgot, but did rsvp a couple weeks back). Oh boy I was not wanting to go, but felt semi-obligated.
After I drove the 30 minutes to his place we had to leave to make it to the engagement party on time. I did make sure he drove, because I was no where near fit enough to be driving that night (my grandma actually said I looked extremely ill and should go to the doctor). We spent about 3 hrs there before I felt like I was going to pass out from exhaustion, so I asked the bf if we could go. Once we got back to the house if was 11:30pm and I was a wreck. As soon as my head hit the pillow I was gone and didn't wake up again until 10 the next morning.
Needless to say the last couple of days have been very full. I have been overeating and not exercising enough. The only exercise I am getting is that walk to and from Practicum, but after the amount of overeating I have done, that walk is not enough. I definitely need to re-evaluate things here.
I notice I overeat on my Practicum days. My practicum days are 8:30-2:30 ish 3 days a week. My pracitucm is a preschool with 2 classes; 1 morning and 1 mid-morning. They eat snack at 10am with the mornign class and 12pm with the after noon class. The teachers also have a 15 minute break between 10:45-11 to eat lunch. If I eat at all 3 times with everyone then I get very hungry at 4pm (which I will eat) then around 9pm I get hungry again and also eat. I'm thinking I am going to try to eat snack with the children in the morning, skip their lunch, and eat my lunch during the "snack time" for the children in the afternoon. That way when I am hungry at 3 or 4 I can have my second snack.
Wow sorry, I think that was more for my understanding then anything.
Does anyone have any suggestions to fit in exercise on those crazy days when there literally is no time. I do take 10 minutes to sit after my 9 hrs at work. If I didn't I don't think I could make it through the second half of the day (school) with such ease. I can't cut back sleep or I wont be able to function. I can't cut back driving time unless I speed. Unless I do an exercise activity with the children at work everyday, then i am stumped.
Part of the problem I also have is that I don't utilize the days that are less busy like I should. hmm maybe I need to re-evaluate my schedule and plunk some time in there no matter what. Any help or suggestions would be great.
So onto my HAPPY NEWS!!!
I have been offered a promotion at my job. Starting May I will be the new Assistant Manager at my work. I would be offered the position immediately, but my boss knows my school comes first and is willing to wait until May. WOOT WOOT HAPPY DANCE TIME!!! When she discussed this with my yesterday, I was crazy excited, but it didn't hit me until this morning. I will be working Monday - Friday 40 hrs per week making more money doing the career I love!!!!!
Have a great Sunday!!!
