We made it to the top of the mountain. It was good, it was fun, and I am never going back. The first 2 miles were not to bad with a slight incline and the last 4 was a steep incline. Yes it had switchbacks, but they were not kind. The views were fantastic.
Coming back was the hard part. Going down has always been harder for me. My knees were good. My arch was good. MY toes hurt. My foot was slipping and my toes were on fire. I think I am going to loose a toenail. In other words , we had a great time. We are glad we did it. It was on my bucket list, so what better time to do it than my 60th birthay hike.
My husband and I are both exteremely sore but planning our next hike. What better way to enjoy nature and see the great outdoors. We saw deer, elk, bobcat, coyote, lizards and numerous birds. We saw wildflowers that should not be blooming in January even in California. Did I mention that that is the Pacific Ocean in the background over the mountain. It was a great weekend.
