Asthma,broken femur & KEMO

Sunday, January 29, 2012

It was a week...I'm sure we've all had days,weeks that are a bit out of our "norm";
..it all started out just fine,

Monday & Tuesday two of our CEO's from corporate came to our facility, that all went rather well (TG!)

Wednesday,a guy at work came in & said another employee (also a dear friend) fell and was calling for me in the whse. I took out like a bat out of he**, rounded the corner right behind two big whse guys to see her laying on the concrete calling for me. I pushed by them to get to her, asked her what hurt, said her leg,I asked did her head/neck hurt "no"ok so i put my jacket under her head looked at her leg, her femur was obviously broken.By then more people came I told them call 911 & held her till they got there. Xrays showed a clean break,that's a blessing. I called her daughter so she could go to the hospital to meet the ambulance. They did surgery put in a rod and screws, that went well. Hopefully going home today.

Thursday I took half a day from work to get power of attny, go to bank etc for MIL that is dying from breast cancer. Took our kitten/cat to the vet to find out why he's been coughing, ya, he has asthma and will have to have shots for awhile to see if it will help him. Visited friend in hosp.

Friday MIL went to Dr for apmt and made them take out the pic line (it was the perminent line they used for KEMO treatments) she said the sickness it (kemo) caused isn't worth the few weeks more it might give her. Stopped after work to visit friend in hosp...guilting co-workers into going with me :) with stuffed animals, balloons & snacks.

Thank goodness so far (knock on wood) this weekend has been very, very busy but not bad.

    Sounds like you've been the calm at the center of the storm! I hope your friend/family (people and furry) get through these trials speedily and without too much suffering. Prayers and good thoughts to your MIL and your family.

You need tending (by your healthy friends) as much as you are tending to others...

    That sounds like a rough week for sure. You're being so supportive and caring and should be very proud of that.
