As my co-workers leave out on Friday for the weekend they're used to seeing me walking to my car in my workout clothes. From time to time someone will say something like, "So what plans do you have for the weekend?" or "Doing something fun tonight?" and my come-back remark is, "Yes, I have a standing date on Friday night with Jim, (that's G-Y-M). Gym makes my heart race, my breathing gets heavy and I always feel so great after spending time with gym".
From time to time I find myself trying to talk myself out of going to the gym to work out...last night for any example. Thoughts like...maybe I'll go on home and just do a DVD workout...and I have a treadmill at home, maybe I'll just go home and do my 2 miles, were thoughts in my head. Then I stopped myself and said, "You know good and well you won't do any of that if you go home...just go on to the gym and get it done and over with". And you know, every time I do that I come out feeling so good and feeling so proud of myself. So why do we have to play these mind games with ourselves?
So you ladies go on and make a date with "Gym" on Friday night and go on and get your workout in before the weekend starts and I promise you will be smiling all weekend!!!
