Weekend Mini Challenge from the Shamrockin' Cupid Vixens Challenge this week is to write a blog about ourselves and to write about what makes us "spark"le and shine. I'm not one that really likes to talk about myself in a positive way so this is definitely a little challenging for me.
What do you love about yourself?
I like the fact that I'm not a particularly "girly" person. Granted, I like to dress pretty and wear make up and that sort of thing (I do want to LOOK like a girl. lol) but I think I'm definitely more laid back and easygoing like a guy would be. I love to crack open a beer and watch (and play) sports. I don't get grossed out by the crude and disgusting things that guys talk about and I actually find it funny and entertaining. I take pride in the fact that my boyfriend's friends all love me because I get along with them like I'm one of the guys. But I also love that I can get dressed up and look and feel sexy like a woman. I love that my boyfriend still finds me sexy. I love knowing that I'm independent and I am totally capable of taking care of myself.
What do you want to love more in yourself?
I would like to love me more. I wish I could love me enough to the point where I feel I deserve to be happy. Logically, I know that I'm a good person and that I deserve to be happy but emotionally, I don't feel that I am pretty enough, rich enough, smart enough, etc. Since I don't love ME enough, I sometimes get taken for granted and I allow myself to get walked on by other people.
Why this journey and why now?
Why not now? Why wait? I guess I finally got to the point where I was just was tired of being lazy. And I wasn't happy with the way I looked. I wanted to feel more active but I didn't have the motivation to get off my butt. So I re-joined Sparkpeople in hopes of "sparking" some motivation in me. Took me about a week but it worked! Re-joining the Done Girls Team and joining the Sexy Elves Shimmy Challenge got me back in the gym and tracking my food and I've been doing that ever since! I just signed up for a half marathon in May and started my half marathon training this week.
I honestly have to thank the Done Girls Team for all the support and motivation that they have provided me the past few months. And a special thank you to Nix for being such an awesome Team Leader. All the encouragement and the mini challenges are great. Helps me to keep that excitement going and helps keep me on track. I definitely think that I would not be as successful as I have been if it wasn't for them!
