Sweets Just Won't Do

Thursday, January 26, 2012

Sweet treats will not...

-make me feel better
-make me happy
-make my coworkers less crazy
-make me more successful
-make me more accomplished
-make me smarter
-give me a Ph.D, or even a master's degree
-make my job meaningful, interesting, or fulfilling
-support my health or my fitness goals
-help me save money or pay my car off
-make my apartment a home instead of just a place to crash
-help me make friends
-take me home to PA
-make my boyfriend open up to me
-make my life better in any way, shape or form

I am sad. I wanted to stop and get a treat. Ice cream, candy, a cookie (or 12), SOMETHING. I had a lot of time on the way home though, to compile this mental list of things that sugar and sweets can't do.

Sweets also cannot make my soul-sucking commute shorter.

Here's to 7 days sugar-free.

Sorry you were feeling blue, and I hope you feel better now. I tried to cut out all sweets once and after about a week and a half got really emotional and abandoned the whole idea. You, however, have a ton of self-discipline and determination! Tomorrow will be a better day...

Oh man, so not fun. I hate being in a low mood. I hope you are able to find a good replacement that will fulfill one of those things on your list!

Perhaps I can print this in large fonts in the office as we nearly always have chocolate in our cookie jar :D and like FITMOMMYFORLIFE, modify a bit to suit our team, hehe.

Although, when I don't have anything else to help me duing my hunger pang in shopping mall and it's so near to lunch but have to wait for others, I usually end up eating ice cream (but must have chocolate in it, such as chocolate syrup). I usually tell myself it's better than getting that french fries, haha.

Great list!! I am having one of those days and gave in to the cookies my dad brought up on Sunday. They didn't really taste good and didn't help me with any of my problems. Oh, well. Tomorrow's a new day. Great job avoiding the temptation!! Hope you are feeling better!
