A successful weigh-in that I'm particularly proud of

Thursday, January 26, 2012

Well after being quite unwell & still recovering I have weighed in at 80.0kg - a loss of .9kg (around 2 lbs). Now let me explain why this is such a big deal. Usually if I'm not well or stressed I am an emotional, comfort eater. So I would eat my way through nuts, biscuits, cheese, chocolate; make grilled cheese or macaroni cheese or anything fattening and comforting - whatever is available. And of course....agree with myself that I should spoil or treat myself until I feel better! Dumb thinking but I've done it for years.
However this time, although I wasn't able to exercise, I DID stick with my calorie goal of between 1200-1500 - mostly around 1250. And though I stalled for a while with my weight loss I did NOT gain any weight, & now I'm losing again. Darn nice emoticon
This is an incredible improvement. habits are changing and that will help the process greatly. I know I still have a long way to go but it's simply one kilo at a time. That's as far ahead as I want to look, and that's absolutely all I NEED to do. Just organise today's eating, stick to it, and add in some exercise, and we're doing the best we possibly can. If I lose again......GREAT! emoticon If I don' will be the next time. I refuse to let the scales "tell me" that I haven't had a healthy week, when I have tracked everything to the best of my ability and know that that's just not true. like a rock in a river, just let it wash over you and stay true to your plan. emoticon
