Some thoughts for the day...I have discovered the bodyrock TV 30-day challenge. I've known about bodyrock for a while, but since most of my fitness routine research happens on my lunch hour at work, I haven't really explored their site, since a lot of the photos are definitely a tad NSFW. But! Tonight I was poking around online after my run (oh, yeah, and I got out for a run today, slipped on the ice, and got sand where there ought not be sand...I'm sure I have a stellar bruise coming on my shoulder...)
Anyhow, I was poking around online and a blogger I read (Iowa Girl Eats) is doing this, so I was looking at the challenge, and it starts with a "measly" 7 minute fitness test. "7 minutes?" I thought, "I can do 7 minutes of random fitness test stuff, even if I did just finish a run"...so I started it. And approximately 1 minutes later, I was gasping for air like an asthmatic fish. Holy bananas, that was HARD. Here's a link if you want to check it out:
It's basically 50 seconds to do as many of a certain exercise as possible, with 10 seconds to rest in between. Sounds simple, but here's my fitness test results:
squat jumps = 18
push ups (on knees) = 13
burpees = 4
high knees = 58
switch lunges = 23
tuck jumps = 2
sit-ups = 13
I was kind of shocked how hard this was. So I think I'll do the 30 day challenge (though I might do it every other day and prolong the magic for 60 days instead...).
In other news, I made my favorite soup for dinner...pumpkin soup. But this time I added jerk seasonings (lots of ginger, allspice, cayenne, etc.). Nummers. Also some salmon patties from Trader Joe's...not buying those again...they tasted like salt, not salmon.
And that is all.
