Looking for New Recipes?

Of course, my main sources for healthy recipes are the SP site and the SP cookbook, but I am always looking for new ideas. I have my tried and true favorites, but it is so important to keep switching things up. Luckily for me, there are tons of great sites on the internet (how DID we find recipes before that came into being???) that focus on healthy recipes, but my latest find is the Skinnytaste blog.

Her blog has been around since 2008 and profiled in many fitness and women's magazines, so you may already be aware of her and used some of her recipes. She is a recent find for me.

Her recipes come with pictures, great detail, nutrition info and WW points. What more could you ask? In addition to all the obvious categories in her recipe index, she also has an extensive selection of vegetarian, low-carb, and gluten free recipes. I recently tried the Pasta Fagioli
(a pasta and bean soup dish that was a big hit with DH) and Sauteed Brussels Sprouts with Pancetta
(my new favorite dish to serve when I have company - even people who don't think they like Brussels sprouts LOVE this dish). I signed up for the recipes by email option, so I get frequent updates on what is new and popular. The one I received today is for a Green Monster Smoothie
that I just might try for breakfast this week.

    Me too. Btw you may LOVE this as much as I did.
Fry 3 sliced spring onions with 3 cloves of garlic and chilli in 2t vegetable oil for 2 minutes. Add a handful of brown mushrooms and ¾C cabbage or spinach and fry for another 2 minutes. Add 1T cashew nuts and 1T reduced salt soy sauce and 1C cooked Chinese noodles.
Heat and serve.
It was so yummy
