Tuesday's This and that

Wednesday, January 25, 2012

Well...

Took my daughter for her weekly OB check up - she was seen a nurse practitioner - and we agreed, she wasn't our favorite... anyway - still only about 3 cm dilated... so... at this point, unless she goes into labor between now and then, we see the dr next week Tuesday, and she's scheduled to be induced on Wed...

Stopped by my dr's office on the way home to weigh myself (I can't use my home scale for another 7 lbs). I haven't weighed myself since Dec 6... I knew I gained weight from Thanksgiving and New Years - didn't know how much, though... then I started back to exercising, water, and tracking... and I could tell that my clothes were fitting better... ANYWAY - I basically weigh what I did on Dec 6 - which means I've lost what I gained (whatever that was) and now, any effort in water/exercise/tracking should mean more weight lost!

Hubby had a young man over for Bible study today and then we (including my daughter) played a couple games of Catan (Cities and Knights)... I won the second one!

Then we received a phone call confirming that we MAY end up as kinship foster parents for our niece's two little ones... It will mean a huge change in our lives to start over again with a 3 yr old and a 4 mo old. There are other issues that we talked about tonight as well that were spurred on by this situation. We need to continue to pray for God's wisdom, direction, and leading... for His PERFECT will!

One of my set goals is to pray that God would help me to affirm my husband and build him up... not sure if I did that, but I certainly prayed for God to give me His words that would help hubby with the choices and changes that will need to be made. Thank You, Father, for Your help... Encourage my hubby tonight, Lord!

Another set goal I have is to pray daily for God to put a guard over my mouth . . . well, not sure that I prayed it consciously, but He did answer it today as I talked with my daughter... so... for this I thank God as well.

To bed we go... I'm sore tonight from using the Kinect to exercise yesterday. lol... I found that I can make the camera/brain think that I'm jumping if I use my arms with a lot of vigor (because sometimes my knees just can't take the jumping...) but boy, am I feeling sore in my ribs and shoulders!

Tomorrow I'm taking hubby to the airport... he's leaving us here in Wisconsin for a leadership retreat in California.... unfortunately, he'll be inside almost all the time, so he won't get to truly enjoy the warmth! Then tomorrow evening is AWANA (Bible Club), so prep and leading that will take the rest of my day.

Of course all these plans could change and be altered if baby decides to come tonight or tomorrow!... lol! As James 4:13-17 says, If the Lord wills, we will..... go to the airport, prep and lead AWANA, and wait for the baby! :-)

g'nite dear friends!

Hope the baby knows it doesn't have to wait for grandpa to get home. Your daughter is probably fine with any time soon.

You have a very busy life, but you have it firmly anchored in the Lord.
Enjoy some time to relax amid your day and to be refreshed for all the tasks before you.
Best wishes.

The affirming my husband was harder for me until I made it part of my personal mission statement:
As a Wife, I shall respect, reverance, regard, esteem, prefer him, defer to him, praise and love my Rob exceedingly.

That is preceeded by my relationship to God-which is much harder:
I seek to place God first in all things in my life. This will bring not only balance, but integration to my many roles in life. In each of these roles, I seek to conduct myself as befits a Proverbs 31 woman.
Proverbs 31:10-31 is a lot to live up to-but if it was easy everyone would do it.
Have a blessed day! emoticon

Your life sounds super busy. May the Lord give you strength for all your ways.
I have some of those same goals - to set a watch about my mouth and to encourage my DH. Prayer is a big part of that of course, but I know they need us to be their biggest emoticon
I will be praying with you about the foster care. That is a big undertaking when you haven't had little ones in the house for a while.
