More about time
1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven
Ecclesiastes 3:1
Iíve always believed this verse means a reason for everything, and everything for a reason.
Recently Iíve been considering other interpretations. I would appreciate if anyone has a thought to share.

Love this verse and I agree with everyone and I am thankful that you shared it. I needed to remember this. God is in control and knows it all!! emoticon
I was wondering about me and how sometimes I feel I am a the top of the mountain and some times I am in the valley, I keep thinking I am weird/crazy or that there is something wrong with me but today as I read this verse I thought about the 4 seasons and how we over them over and over and over.

It is not always spring or summer or fall or winter so I guess there is nothing wrong with me!!

This is one of my favorite bible verses..I choose it as one of the readings for my Dad's funeral 4 years ago (he was a farmer so the time to sow..was fitting) anyway my nephew was reading it at the service and my littlest granddaughter who was 3 at the time was listening intently because when he read ..a time to dance..the little one said loudly with great excitement.."There's gonna be a DANCE!"

It's a memory that still makes me smile emoticon

Just like nature..everything has it's ebb and flow

I had a pastor that has gone on to be with the Lord. He said, "You are meant to see and hear what you see and hear." Sometimes we hear things which upset us and sometimes we hear things that we know are more than coincidence. Like you hearing about your great grandmother. Sometimes we view things that we should not keep looking at and God will chasten us for it, like David and Bathsheba. Yet a doctor may look at a number of women daily.

I also think about time in the sense that nothing we can do can stop the time of death. Often I have heard people fretting, "If only this had happened, or I had done this or that." That is when I think Ecclesiastes 3:2 is important to read.

I think it's reminding us of God's perfect timing & reasons, but also of the fact that our lives have seasons. Sometimes it's best to be quiet, sometimes to speak. Sometimes our focus needs to be on maintaining peace, other times we need to speak up forcefully against injustice. There are so many kinds of seasons & "times" . . .

To me this verse reminds me that God has created everything and put everything in order. I I think of this verse in reference to God's perfect timing, which is rarely my timing. It give me a calm and peace though when my timing is not working so well. I find comfort in God's control especially when it appears that everything is going crazy.
Not sure this makes sense, I have to think more about it too.
