The Good: I made a connection with my class partner re: checking out the spiritual scene here. I've been wanting to have someone to investigate the community with, and she kind of landed in my lap. Well, not literally, but you know what I mean. This is exciting! Also, I really had a clear epiphany this week about teaching vs. counseling, with counseling coming out very definitely ahead. Of course, I'm in the education master's program and I'll finish it up and take a year off before starting the counseling program, but man, do I feel alive in those classes!
The Bad: I figured out that worn outshoes + turning clockwise on the track are overcoming my cool shin stretch. I mean, it's sort of good because I can correct those things by buying new shoes and only running on days the track is set counter-clockwise. I can also work on some serious stretches for my calves and shins to help the situation out.
The Ugly: I'm pretty sure shin splints started today. I'm not sure what to do with it - I could continue a kind of training on the elliptical or something like that. If it's just starting, do I need to stop? Can I take a day or two off and use ice and ibuprofen? I should probably go to the health center, but I'm pretty sure I know what they're going to say - stop running until you're under 200 pounds.
