Rough weekend, but not letting it continue.....bring on a GREAT WEEK!

emoticonThis is how I feel. I am exhausted and there is something to be said for not having a break. We have a week"end" for a reason, why are mine always worse than the week?
I went from one activity/commitment to another from Friday morning on.
Yesterday was the worse as far as food goes. I have never been a huge greasy food nut. However when travelling the dart circuit, healthy choices are not always available. With such a busy weekend, preparing for this was not happening! I had a bagel for breakfast, on the road. A whole grain blueberry muffin for snack, beef soup for lunch (good choice) then hunger hit......CHIPS.
Followed by McD's fries, a cookies-n-cream pie (not good! it was AWESOME) then pizza later that evening.....as the junk food does not satisfy hunger for long.
I did play darts for the day, however I am disgusted with myself. I know that for the most part I could not control my choices....HOWEVER I feel gross.

emoticonToday is a new day. I am not going to allow the down falls of a rough weekend to ruin this week. i started today with bottled water and oatmeal. I am going to make this happen......I NEED TO! This letting go of yesterday is not a strong point of mine. Need to let it go and I AM!

    Weekends.... the 2 days of the week where all the last 5 days' worth of work come undone. *sigh* I hear ya.

That said, if these tournaments are something that come up often, it's time to come up with a game plan for these weekend affairs. I know it can be done, even though I haven't had to do it for a while. There are a lot of strategies you can use to get through the event, including carrying your own water bottle wherever you go (my frequent comment is "Where did I leave that bottle now??"), bringing fruit and veggie snacks with you, using the line "I'm allergic" or some other white lie excuse when offered food, and asking organizers if they're planning to order veggies with the food they're offering.

A few years ago, office luncheons were a nightmare for me, because it was always sandwiches and only sandwiches, and I can't do bread at lunch (not worth the afternoon butt-dragging). I asked the support staff ordering the meal to include at least a small garden salad, or better yet, a nice large salad that others can pick from. After that, the salads always came, and what's more ironic that it's now the food that disappears first.

Now the big question... were YOU one of the organizers? :-P

    Pick yourself up, dust yourself off and start all over again. I am really trying to do it this week as well. Sounds like you are on your way!
