Getting ready for the second tranplant for DH

Sunday, January 22, 2012

We will be leaving tomorrow to go to Shand's to start the testing again. This time they will be using our sons bone marrow to give to his daddy. We will be there for a couple of days then go home and come back in about 10 days for the hard part. We will be there over 100 days from the time that they give him the bone marrow. Have to make sure that I also keep healthy so that he will not get sick because it could kill him if he does. He will have no immune system because of the chemo kills it. It is not a fun process to watch. The person who goes through it is in allot of pain because chemo does not care if the cells are good or bad. It kills them all. Please keep him in your prayers. Thank you all.

I also saw your huddle and came to see what your husband was having done. I know the expense is horrendous and the procedure for both son and husband will be very painful. I did say a prayer for them and you and will continue to pray for the three of you.
"For I the Lord thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, fear not: I will help thee." Isaiah 41:13

Hi! I just noticed your Huddle note and thought I would check out your page to see why your husband was in the hospital. Prayers for you both and hopefully his healing goes well.

I sincerely hope it works this time. I was lucky enough to survive Kidnay cancer, but it took about 8 years to be fairly confident - there was a big scare five years afterward, but it turned out OK.

We're all pulling for him and you.

a former co-worker of mine was diagnosed w/leukemia. The only reason he went to the doc was because he had cold-like symptoms that just wouldn't go away (also a low-grade fever). I think they gave him 6 weeks. He received bone marrow from his brother. He is completely CURED. It's been about 15 years now.

I also know another adult leukemia survivor from our annual girl's week beach trip.

I'm a cancer survivor (mine was VERY minor melanoma, caught early. But it scared the crap outta me!)

you and your family will be in my prayers
