It's okay to hate....

I just turned 41 on the 19th of January and on the 1st of January I celebrated my 3 year anniversary of the day I changed ME! It has been a great 3 years of running, eating right, eating bad, running harder, and taking "days off". It has been a journey. I still fight the battle of the last 10 pounds, but I always take it day by day.
I love to run, it is my passion. I love participating in 5Ks and 10Ks. I did a 1/2 marathon and I hope a full marathon is in my near future. I love Zumba and BodyPump. I don't like Taebo or Body Combat or Swimming. Waking up in the morning to work out is THE WORST BEST thing. I hate to wake up, I love my sleep, but I love that I get it over with and the rest of the day is all mine to do with what I want because I've taken care of "the daily workout". LOL
I love sweets. I don't like salty stuff. I love pastas, I can still eat a whole medium pizza by myself (I did it on a dare when a friend said, "You can't do it now...your stomach has shrunk and you won't be able to..." Um, ya...whatever) I don't like healthy foods, but I like the way they make me look and feel. Pasta and cake makes me sleepy and gives me a stomach ache. A good salad at dinner and I sleep like a baby. My husband and I experiment with healthy recipes to keep it interesting and full of flavors, but I still have lasagne and waffles on cheat days.
It's been 3 years and it's been a balance of getting to know my body, my likes and dislikes and above all keeping to the main goal. Staying healthy.
It's going.....oh and I hate asparagus, it's just gross no matter how you cook it......
