Today I'm making

Chili:
ground turkey, 1 can black beans, 1 can kidney beans, 1 large can tomato juice, 1 can chili-seasoned diced tomatoes, and 1 packet chili seasoning. THe two "bad for you things were the canned tomato juice ( I'm sure extra salt, as well as the packet of chili seasoning isn't low salt) Incidentally, the tomato juice was a bit acidic so I tossed in a spoonful of brown sugar to mellow it out.

Steelcut Oats-
Aldi's had 28oz tub of the oats for $2.49 on clearance. I think a lot of people don't like that they take so long to make. I always make a huge batch and then freeze it! I also picked up a tub for my two Dingo Sisters- pootpoot.

Crockpot something-
I'm horrible at knowing what to do with cuts of meat. I lined the bottom of my crockpot with whole carrots, threw in 4 mushrooms and then decided that I should have some type of moisture. didn't want to make up beef stock so I grabbed a can of lentil soup and added that to the crockpot, then laid 3 beef loin something or another steaks ( with a little salt and pepper) on the top. My hopes is that it turns out, and that I'll have one of the steak thingys for a meal and use the other two, along with the stuff in the crockpot, as some type of beef stew. Who knows what will come out of this experiment.



Breakfast today-
Banana, and a smoothie ( incl. protein powder, etc). I've also had a handful of chocolate chips. I opened a bag of them to add to a homemade trail mix that was on the back of the Aldi's cereal (think generic Fiber one). It has mini pretzels, Fiber-one-like cereal, dried cranberries, cinnamon sugar almonds, and now chocolate chips.

    I use tomato sauce and some cayenne pepper for my chili and into the crock pot for a few hours.
