The times they don't seem to be a changing

Saturday, January 21, 2012

I've been tracking my food diligently for over a week and working out. My clothes feel great, but the scale is discouraging. Maybe I'm expecting too much too soon, but I thought I'd lose something this week! My A1C was high so my doc put me on metformin (spelling??). Maybe this will help . I'll be up early in the morning and on the treadmill for one hour first thing. Maybe I'll add some weights to my routine. I'm also doing some yoga weekly. So I have 3 positive working for me . . . healthy diet; regular exercise and a positive attitude! Results are sure to show up soon. :)

I whipped out the measuring tape after Yoitle's comment (Drum roll please).....I actually lost 4 inches overall! A great reminder that the scale is not the only measure of success. :)

emoticon I know what you mean about the scales being discouraging, but stay with it. You'll get there.

You're right Yoitle. My clothes fit looser and I feel great. I'll take my measurements today.

If you have a chance to get a reading on percentage of body fat, start tracking that. I bet you are losing fat and gaining muscle with that kind of workout routine. The scale is just the surface of the ocean. Lots of things can be going on down deep. Tape measure is also another alternative especially if your clothes are fitting differently.
