Blogging Day 7

Friday, January 20, 2012

As this week of blogging challenge draws to a close, I am pretty pleased with myself. This experience has helped me identify and focus on a particular habit and actually make some significant progress. As I shared my thoughts, frustrations, and goals, I received tremendous encouragement and a ton of ideas on things to try. It really recharged my level of motivation.

I am going to continue with my commitment to plan and track daily, but I am also going to focus on another habit - blogging and responding to blogs. I think both have been tremendously beneficial to me. I have done both for the last two years, but not with any consistency. Consistency being the key word here. I am better with reading and responding to other SP member blogs. I usually read and respond to two a day. It was never a goal; it was just something I did. As a formal goal, I am going to read and respond to at least three SP blogs a day. As for my goal for writing, I have followed a couple of SPARKERS who blog every day (or most days), and I have gotten so much out of them. I would love to be able to do likewise. I think it might be a bit overwhelming for me to commit to one every day, so I am going to start with a goal of three times a week and build from there.

I think this could, indeed, be habit forming!

I agree, reading others blogs and responding helps me too. I think the key word of this 5% challenge is Consistency if I remember right. So looks like we are getting the consistency part and some other side benefits too!!

I agree, I think blogging really helps clarify our thoughts and makes us "look our thoughts in the eyes"--so to speak. I don't particularly like to blog everyday; however--too much pressure. lol

At the same time, I'm always amazed at the responses I get. It makes me realize I'm not alone or the *only* one feeling a certain way. Yep, always nice to know one is not a freak of nature. emoticon

It reminds me of a quote from the cover of a little blank book I had in the 70s: "How can I know what I know until I see what I say?" Writing is a GREAT way to discover what is under the surface inside, to crystallize thought. I've always enjoyed your blogs & learned from them--now I can look forward to enjoying that experience often!

I'm not a blogger, but I do enjoy reading other's blogs. I feel I can learn a lot from what others have to say. Good luck with the last week of the challenge!
