First Big Wardrobe Buying Spree in 3 Years!

Friday, January 20, 2012

Three of my BFFs went outlet shopping yesterday and I had a wonderful time at Dress Barn, where I bought nearly $600 in garments on sale fot $250. And used my coupons to get a cute leather bag for $1.15! There was the perfect black sleeveless sheath dress from Jones New York and I bought 6 different jackets to wear with it plus a couple of skirts, a denim jacket, and a couple of tops. It was the biggest wardrobe splurge I'd had since prior to lap band surgery. The best part was when the size 20s I took in to the dressing room were too big and the saleslady had to find 18s. Wheeeeee.....

I have a terrible time when I go shopping. I try on the clothes and everything looks good and I want to buy it all. I can't say no. I was so used to not being able to try anything on (nothing was BIG enough in the stores--I did all my clothes shopping through large sized catalogs), and when it arrived in the mail, I would try it on at home, but I just looked like a blob. A big fat blob. So now when I try stuff on at the stores, and look okay, in my mind, I look great, and I have a hard time NOT buying everything I try on!

I sure spend a lot of time shopping now. I will probably need a part-time job soon to pay for that closetful of new clothes I have bought. But it was so worth it! WHAT FUN!

Hi Lynn, I'm now 6' tall thanks to the pretty red high heels and I am dancing around the house in them--LOL!!

Your shopping trip sounds like lots of fun and it's just great that you almost purchased a whole new wardrobe and didn't break your piggy bank. How fantastic it feels when you go down another size. I am curious as to if you'd recommend having a lap band surgery? I've thought of it but not too long ago read that over 1/2 of people who have done that want it taken out about 10 years later. I have no idea why they do that??

Enjoy your weekend!
