Oh, and PS... progress pix

Friday, January 20, 2012

I found a cool progress pic app for my iPhone called Body Shot.

I wanted to show you the difference that Primal made for me in October 2011.

That volley ball shape to my tummy in the before picture? That's called "wheat belly." And the sad and depressed look on my face? That's my primary emotion when I eat refined sugar. The difference between those two photos is only 6lbs.

I don't have good pics for my January experiment yet... but stay tuned, by the time I'm done with my 8-week fitness challenge, it should be epic!

I read the book wheat belly. I stopped eating wheat, white flour. Had a beer today, I am now miserable with belly pain. Gluten I guess, beer has plenty of that.
Great pic too!! Amazing what eating clean can do for your body!
Good job!

In October were you going all primal, or partially? What's your approach now?

Ever since Maya started sending me links and articles about primal and IF and all of those things, I've debated incorporating some of the thoughts into my lifestyle....but I get easily miffed when I feel over saturated by a trend or diet. I like to have time to come into my own thoughts and feelings on these matters.

Now that the holidays are over, however, I noticed that without attempting to change anything, all i want is veggies and meat. I think I pretty much OD'd on sugar and sort of feel like death because of it. So I've been debating a partially primal move. I'm not ready to say goodbye to beer, but I think I could move in the direction of taking a vacation from other forms of grain and definitely rein in my sugar.

Just interested in hearing your take. :)
