ACK! Fell off the wagon!

Wednesday, January 18, 2012

No food posts to blog about because I didn't record my food. I did well Saturday and Sunday until I ate some potato chips. Then the next day I nibbled on chocolate and then yesterday I drank a beer. UGH! Last night I had serious stomach pains and gas and because I was off my game, I have no idea which foods upset my delicate balance.

So Monday I start again, Day 1 of the 28 Day Detox and Elimination Diet. I won't go crazy between now and then, I'll still eat lentils and rice and no "no-no" foods and drink my green smoothies.

Somedays you have to just say "One hour at a time" I find I do the most sabotage to myself when I think "What the heck I blew it for today I might as well just eat that Red Robin Royal Burger" But if i think ok I didn't make a smart food choice for lunch....or for my snack...I can make a smart food choice for dinner!"

I know you can do it!

"if you do it, own it", you did and are wiser for it. Maybe you should allow yourself something once and awhile, but something maybe healthier as a to go food, that is a sub for those things. Like organic wine instead of beer, cocao, carob treat in place of chocolate, and a better chip choice like veggie baked chips or dehydrated kale chips (really good).
Set aside a day for a limited amount of one of these items you love. Than it is not a cheat or a fall, it is a planned event. I always found when I was so restricted and "couldn't" have something I wanted it more. Also alcohol is hard because it let's us not care and throw caution to the wind...well at least for me.
Good Luck!

Hey Vibeke, we all fall off the wagon but we have the ability to get back on. That is the beauty that makes us human. You saw it for what it was and nipped it in the bud. Good for you!!! You have done and will continue to do well. Keep the faith! Lorie

Everybody goes through this from time to time. I'm sure you learned lessons from this. I'm always amazed by how bad I feel when I fall off the wagon too. Wish it would keep me from ever falling again. : ) But you know how it is!

    Nothing's impossible I have found,
For when my chin is on the ground,
I pick myself up,
Dust myself off,
Start all over again.

Don't lose your confidence if you slip,
Be grateful for a pleasant trip,
And pick yourself up,
Dust yourself off,
Start all over again.

You are a human being. I am glad to know that. I'm rooting for you.
