When I first started exercising in October of 2011 people were unkind and in some cases downright adversarial. I got funny looks, little jabs and barbs from friends and coworkers and my daughter was a little irritated that I was always talking about weight and nutrition and exercising at home. I really felt alone.
After about a month or so people started to see the weight loss and took me a little more seriously but they still didn't cheer me on. Thank God I had learned to do it without a whole lot of support by this point.
Since the New Year has begun it really is a different story. Several groups of ladies on my job have started working out and talk about getting healthy all the time (they still refuse to talk to me about it even though they see me walk on my lunch break every day rain or shine.) My daughter is working out at her college's gym with her friends a few times per week and my son and husband have been very complimentary of the fact that I have stuck to my goals.
I post stuff on Facebook all the time about weight loss and what I have learned and several old classmates and friends have asked me to post pictures of my weight loss and to keep encouraging them. All an all I am quite pleased. No one ever has to give me any credit for sparking the desire to get healthy and fit in others...that is not important to me. I am just so motivated to see other people all around me taking better care of themselves.
God is so good!
