blog 4 of 7 for the team challenge - go dawgs!!

Tuesday, January 17, 2012

In light of the recent "Blog-FB link" I wanted to mention the "I like this" FB link on all articles.

Like others, I was clicking them, trying to get my sparkpoints - until someone commented on my FB page about their disagreement with the article.

I no longer click those links and I don't get the sparkpoints - but at least I am no longer agreeing with articles that might be questionable.

4 blogs down, 3 blogs to go!!

**FYI, even when I clicked the articles, I rarely got the sparkpoints emoticon
Just the flack about liking them emoticon

the good thing is that at least on the SP blogs we don't have that "like" button emoticon

I don't mind the articles that I like showing up on FB, but I sure as heck would not want my blogs to show up there!

Thank you for the tip! I am finding more and more annoying things about spark lately! I thought i had turned off my share blog button, but its still up there! Think you have to turn your page offline to stop it going on FB etc. Need to find out!

The more I read about this, the more I'm happy I disabled my Facebook account.

with everything so easily linked these days you have to be very careful. I know I didn't like my SP status updates being sint to my FB page and didn't even realize they were until a friend made a comment about one of them (nothing bad just something that I thought was staying on SP)

The worse thing was clicking like on the blogs posted our personal stuff on Facebook! They have removed that like button now (it was new) thank goodness! Lucky the blog on FB was not TOO personal as I have a lot of clients on there!

Fortunately SP did away with the FBlike button! Made me happy b/c I don't do facebook. Don't want my laundry lists plastered all over. I trust my SP friends & that's it for the internet. Sorry you missed out on some SPark points.

I clicked just a few and decided I didn't need the points that
badly if I was going to offend someone else. Point taken.

I used to click on a few of them when I really did like them, but rarely got the points, either, so just quit with the "liking." Most of the time I didn't like them THAT much anyway. So, when there is a blog that we really do like, and we click on the "I liked this" at the bottom of the page, that's just within SP, isn't it? Just curious. Thanks, Linda! Jeannie

Once I realized they were on FB, I stopped commenting. 3 less points ~sigh~

I decided not to click any of those 'likes to FB' on articles ever again, too.
Oh, well, a few less points for me.

I agree with you too. There are things I post here that I do not want to show up on FB. As long as we have the choice of sharing or not sharing then I am okay with that. Spark away Linda!

I think the share/not share thing with Facebook is very tricky. Obviously Spark is trying to get itself known more and more and always looking for free advertising etc...

I agree with MIPALADY23. We should all be able to decide for ourselves how much of our personal information and thoughts we want to share with other people. It IS a shame that we'll be losing out on points, though!

I didn't mind the link either HOWEVER it should totally be in the power of the user if their blogs can or can't be "shared". Privacy preference must be first, AND they should announce an update of that magnatude along with the fix if the user doesn't want to participate.

    my 2 cents emoticon
