Week 14 - Starting with a Weigh-In and a Smile
Monday, January 16, 2012
When I started my lifestyle change 14 weeks ago, I knew that it would not be easy and that I would have to dig deeper than I ever had before to find the strength, dedication and will power that would be needed if I were to succeed. I am proud to say that the digging has been worth it and through all the digging I have found the most amazing treasure……myself.Just 14 weeks ago I was quite unhappy with myself. I had let myself grow to a morbidly obese weight of 333.6lbs. I knew I had to change if I wanted to see my kids grow up and if I wanted to love a long, happy life with my wife. I will never forget how I felt on October 14th after looking in the mirror. I made the one of the biggest decisions of my life that day, and today I am very happy.
In last 14 weeks I have lost 49lbs. That means I have lost 3.5lbs per week for the last 14 weeks. The scales this morning read 284.6! I am so excited. I have also lost 3 inches from my waist. I feel great, I am looking better, I have more energy now than I ever had before, I am thinking clearer and I am genuinely enjoying life and my new lifestyle.
What has made this easier is having a wonderful family and some of the best friends in the world. Their support has made all of the difference. What is also rewarding is the fact that my weight loss is inspiring others to do the same. When someone tells me they are changing their lifestyle because of the success I have had, it makes me feel great, in fact it is as rewarding as losing the weight myself.
Another key to my weight loss has been Sparkpeople and the awesome community and tools here.
I am excited that this week I will hit 50lbs lost, that is my first goal. My next goal will be 100lb, and then on to my final goal of losing 133.6lbs. Then I will weight 200lbs! I am hoping to hit this weight by the end of the year! I KNOW I can do it! Nothing is going to stop me.
I hope your week has started as great as mine has, and I wish you all the best when it comes to hitting your goals for the week.
All the best,
