I Love My Doctor

Monday, January 16, 2012

I have a doctor who listens to me. She wants me to try Januvia if the increase in one medication doesn't lower my blood sugar levels. At least this gives me time to research Januvia and three months to see if a simple increase of my usual medication helps. I have been on the same medication for 17 years and I realize that after time some medications lose their effectiveness. At least she is listening to the stress I am under with family matters and is giving me three months to see if my body will respond to a higher dosage in medication. I know from past experience that when my sugars are under control, I find it easier to lose weight. I am also going to test more often. Doctor wants to see some of my levels 2-3 hours after meals. That will be hard for me to remember. I will do my best. At least she is talking different medications and not insulin! I will breathe easier now. Up next Dentist on Wednesday! Yuck - I know no good news there!

So glad you have such a good doctor! They seem to be becoming a rare breed. Mine is great, too, but have heard many complain about how theirs don't listen to them. Thank God for the really GOOD ones!
( I feel the same about dentists, too! hehe)

Trust is so valuable when you are talking
to doctors and they are recommending changes
in meds. You always have to hope they know
what they are talking about. Good luck!

Maybe you can set an alarm to remember. During the school day find a way to do this unobtrusively let the students do some song for a break that includes movement.
Been to the dentist teeth are gone and swollen but at least I know that when the pain goes away this time it will not come back.

A great understanding medical doctor is invaluable! I'm so very grateful for mine too! (that is my family doctor- not so much some of the local specialists)
I hope the increase in dosage does the trick for you & good luck w/ your dentist appointment!
