Ok - so I'm 2 weeks in now and I want to reflect on the changes I've made. I went from eating 3-4 servings of cake/cookies/junkfood daily to maybe 1-2 daily. And the "junkfood" I'm eating now is lower in fat and calories than the stuff I used to eat. I'm quite happy about this step. I really felt like I was addicted to the junk - the more I ate, the more I NEEDED it. I don't feel that way anymore! It's such a great feeling to not feel controlled by my sweet tooth. Also, I'm trying to burn a few extra calories everyday. I've had my ups and downs with this, but previously (say the last 6 months) I've done absolutely nothing so this is a major improvement in that department as well. I know that in the next few weeks I'll have to step up to the next level (for me, that means 30 minutes of exercise 4-5 times a week) but I'm not quite ready for that yet. I'm sort of looking forward to it but at the same time, I don't want to start yet because I don't want to push too much too soon. I'm really enjoying easing in to a new lifestyle. I really want to thank everyone who has emailed, commented and generally motivated me to continue on here. I feel like my friends and family have multiplied since joining - and I appreciate all of you! I certainly hope that together we can attain our goals. 2012 will be our year!
