Weekend Update: Very Cold Run, But I Did It!

Monday, January 16, 2012

Good Morning! Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Friday was my rest day and I took advantage of it. I walked the dogs, but other than that, I relaxed and enjoyed it. Friday night we had pizza and I was STARVING!!!! I ate four slices, but skipped dessert.

Saturday morning was my long run and it was tough. I'm up to four miles and I did decent, 52:31 but it was FREEZING!!! It was 24 degrees and my running partner bailed, so it was tough. I made it though! After my run we went food shopping, took a nap and watched all my sports teams kick ass! Go, Canes, go Pats!

Yesterday, I was in a bit of a mood, so I moped around and napped on and off. I got better around 4ish when we headed over to our friends for dinner. It was really good, although I missed lunch so I went a bit overboard with the mini York Peppermint Patties (I had at least six).

All in all a great weekend. Tomorrow is weigh in day and as long as I hit everything today, I'll earn my two hour massage!!!!!!! So excited!

Thanks for reading and your support!

*Jen

Good on you - today I only had time to knock out 1 "quick" mile at lunchtime, & that wind was kicking up too cold & gusty for me to brave getting out on the road tonight! (or at least that's the excuse I give myself, as well as B.) don't want to drive the 11 mi back into town to use gym TM not to mention C.) don't want to risk another dead dog bcz I'm certain mine would follow me up the hill & onto the road...Sure, I could have run 4 laps around my pond, but in the dark, on uneven ground?? I'd surely turn my ankle.)

That concludes my long-winded spiel of self-justification, but again I congratulate you Jen! You're an inspiration!

Good job on braving the cold. It's not easy to run when you're freezing. Glad you had a nice weekend, too. Good luck on your weigh in tomorrow. I hope you earn your massage!!

Great job running in that cold! It's never easy to get out there, but I find once you get moving it always makes it worth while.
I'm glad to hear you're going to earn your massage soon!!

I couldn't brave this Michigan weather and ducked to the gym for my long run-good job!

When you are not necessarily accustomed to cold temps like that it is a shock to the system. You did great!!!!

Congrats on the long run! It is really cold outside this morning (18 degrees), and I am a wimp, so I did my long run indoors on the funmill.
