Week Two of Jumpstart Done

So I just finished up week 2 of the January Jumpstart Workout Challenge. So pleased to find that the scale reflected my hard work this week: another 2 pounds lost. The bigger news: I wore a pair of pants I have not been able to wear in over a year, and a skirt that didn't fit me last month fit well two days ago. Also, I can wear my rings again! HUGE accomplishments for me, and I'm finding that is even more important than the number.
Although it's only been two weeks on this challenge, it has been five weeks of being serious and really working toward my goal. I have more energy, and I have made such a habit of exercising, that I don't skip it even if I think I might like to. I just feel too good and have seen too much progress to skip even one day. I might take it easier a day or two, but I always do SOMETHING.
Another (surprising) benefit of this lifestyle change: my attitude! I'm actually happier and I don't struggle with anger as much, even during those times (days) when it's hard to keep my cool. My husband has noticed, and the thing that has most impressed him is how happy I am. He told me I looked beautiful, and I asked if it was because I was wearing my makeup a little more. He said no, it was my attitude that made me so beautiful. What a confirmation that it's not the numbers, or reaching the goal, but the small steps along the way! That one comment alone has given me even more determination to see this through and really work toward that long term goal.
