Great day!

Sunday, January 15, 2012

I had a good day today. It didn't necessarily start out that way. I woke up, texted my Pastor that I still wasn't feeling well, and that I wouldn't be there to teach again today. I went back to sleep for awhile, and then got up and moved to the couch... which has become my "normal" routine since becoming sick. After a little while, hubby says "Let's take the dog for a walk." So I ponder this idea, and... "okay, but just a short walk, it is still so cold, and I don't want to over do it."

We walked around the block, and then as we come back to the house, hubby veers off towards the house, and I tell him that I think I will go around again. Something about the air felt crisp and clean, and almost...renewing! So, after coming back, I sat down to take the dog's harness off, and hubby tells me I look like I feel better. You know what? I do feel better. I told him that I was going to the gym for a little while, and guess what? I got in a full workout. I did 30 minutes on the elliptical, and got in 2.89 miles. I then did a full lower body strength training workout, and then walked on the treadmill for another 30 minutes. I think all together I had close to 7 miles logged for today. WOOT! I don't know what clicked, or what made the difference, but I feel good! My head was clear, no sinus problems, no cough, no wheezing.

So tonight, I proudly log my 120 minutes of exercise!!!

    Hi Carly;

So glad you took the plug because when I go outside whether cold or not if the sun is on me I feel wonderful. Today after bowling and believe me I am exhausted but I have commitments. I bowled the 2 leagues and ate lunch there and then had time to kill before I picked up 7 year old DGD so I walked in the sun in the parking lot. It use to be s big shopping center but empty now.If we keep ourselves down we will never get up and the longer we do it the harder it is to move. Learn something new every day. God bless you always.

Smile Joyce
