I lost 75 pounds after I first joined SparkPeople, YEA!
Then I thought I wanted to take some time off to pity myself since things were not going my way. BIG MISTAKE! I gained almost 50 pounds back in the last 15 months. Now I am ready to kick myself for doing that. Instead, after reading the article "The 10% Solution" I am ready to kick myself into gear! I hate the way I feel and I am not pleased with how I look. So instead of another pity party I am having an "I want to live Party". Losing 10% at a time is not as overwhelming as the thought of losing 40% of me! I CAN DO IT!
In real terms 10%=25 pounds or 40%=100 pounds. SO, now my first goal is to lose 25 pounds. Since that is a lot, I am breaking that down into 10%'s again. 2.5 pounds is so doable!!! Then 2.5, and another 2.5...
I love 10%. It makes that 100 pounds into a reachable goal. Even if, at times, 2.5 may take more time than I want it to, it is NOT unreasonable.
Now all I have to do is GO FOR IT!!!
