So I was thinking earlier that I'm not really sure what the Austin stereotype is, apart from the general "weird". I think we're supposed to be hipsters, although I don't know what hipsters are. And I'm pretty sure I'm not one.
Let me tell you what I did today, and you can tell me if this is a typical Austinite day: We did yoga this morning. Then I made some homemade pizza with organic vegetables (acquired from a local business, natch). And after that I hopped on my bike and rode across town to Recycled Reads, a local bookstore that is attached to the library system. I donated some books I'm done with and browsed to see what was on offer. And then I got home and went out for a run for good measure.
I tweeted that the only thing that was missing from my stereotype today was a trip to Whole Foods and a stop on Sixth Street for a local craft beer. (I do go to Whole Foods to get dried beans from time to time. I never go to Sixth Street. And I don't drink. So those last two things are highly unlikely.)
Anyway! So my totals for today/this week/January are:
Run 2 miles/8 miles/20 miles
Cycle 12 miles/32 miles/73 miles
P90X 1 time/1 time/3 times
Walk none/3.5 miles/6 miles
Swim none so far-- I'll start that next week
