Today, I'm thinking about my "Trouble Goal." I am in the Fast Break stage of my Spark Diet, and I'm following the steps pretty closely. It is a good way to stay on track and earn lots of Spark Points to boot.
What is my trouble goal??? I think it is when I overindulge at parties or Sunday dinners with family. I know this diet is really a lifestyle change. So I am realistic that parties and family get-togethers are a real part of life that I can't avoid.
I know at these events that I will go over my calories. That is fine! Really it is. It is only once in a while and they have to be part of my new lifestyle.
The problem comes in when I go overboard. The overabundance of appetizers, delicious multi-course meals, desserts, sodas, and alcoholic drinks are all there. I need to take a little of each or say "no, thank you" to some. But something puts my appetite into overdrive and before I know it, I'm saying "well, I've eaten this much...a little more won't hurt." Then comes "well, I blew it...I might as well go all-out."
I need to be more mindful at these times. I know I can do it. Small successes are what we need to make this a permanent lifestyle change. It won't happen overnight!
