Jazzercise is fun!

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Years ago I took Jazzercise classes and had great fun working out. I would take my grand daughters with me to the classes and they would stay in the children's playroom and play and have a good time. Meanwhile I was working out in the Jazzercise class. It was a great way to workout, enjoy the experience, and of course sweat!

Now my grand daughters have all grown up and the classes are no longer at that convenient location. I have fond memories of the classes though and have had hopes of finding some dvds that would work for me at home.

Bingo! Last night I searched on Amazon.com again and found 3 divds (core, cardio, and abs) I ordered all three Jazzercise dvds and I get free shipping. Now that is a deal! I also noticed that they had some Latin dance Jazzercise dvds. I have had a desire to learn some Zumba, but have only tried the Zumba on Youtube. I quickly found out that my body just does not move like that. It is the same way with me speaking Spanish, my lips just don't work like that. Maybe if I actually took a beginner Zumba class, I would do better.

Another thing, I must share. I remember step classes in Jazzercise too. My husband made me a step and it has been in the attic for years. I miss working out with the step, so I looked to see if I could find Jazzercise step dvds, but I did not have any luck. A couple of weeks ago, I did find step aerobics by Debra Mazda and another by Tonya Larson. Maybe they will arrive today and I will get up in that cold attic and bring my stip down out of the moth balls.

Time to get my workout dvd on and get these feet moving! Have a great day!

Awesome, I'm glad you liked Jazzercise, I've been wanting to try it out and have been looking at reviews. I'm going to take my first class tomorrow.

You have a good plan... attack! As a part of our Healthy for Life Challenge at work we had a kick off last Monday. They had a representative from Jazzercise lead us in 10 minutes of exercise. That was my first exposure to this style of expercise. After reading your blog, I might try to find where they are holding the classes. I tried to reproduce the steps we learned in my living room, but a DVD might be just the ticket. Not having to get in the car to drive to a class would make it easier.

Good for you! It's important to find what works for you and that you enjoy. As you know from my blog, I've been totally hooked on Zumba until a couple of weeks ago. I may love it again once I give myself a chance to learn the new routines. One thing I know for sure....if you don't love it, you won't keep it up.

Have fun getting fit with your new DVDs! emoticon (SP needs some dancing emoticons, lol)

I used to love the Jazzercise classes too. I actually have an old record and poster of the exercises somewhere..... somewhere. I dont know if the program lasted long enough to be put on dvds.....

Anyway enjoy your new exercises videos. Best wishes on your road to good health.
