So I saw this bit on ABC a few nights ago
About breaking food addiction through a 28 day plan, similar to stopping smoking or any other addiction.
My book (which was about 20 bucks on amazon shipped) arrived yesterday and I'm going to spend the day reading it and making some shopping lists.
Basically it talks about how certain foods actually give your brain the same chemical highs that drugs can. Which, of course, then causes your brain to say MORE MORE MORE. Most smokers don't start out at 4 packs a day, but over the years, your brain just wants more and more to feel normal. It's the same with food.
Anyway, I'm reading the book and will post the results as I start it. I figured for the price of a dinner out, I could afford a book that could possibly help me :-) Also since the report was on a show that I have come to expect accurate reporting from, I figured it wasn't just a product advertising thing.
