My Ah-Hah Moment!

Wednesday, January 11, 2012

This morning I went to the laundry room and put a load of laundry on. When I went back to put the clothes int he dryer I still had 4 minutes remaining. Too little to walk back to my apartment and too much to idle away. It is an enclosed room and no one was around so I decided it was a good time to do some ST. My breathing is not good this morning and my pulse had dropped to the 50's so I knew I needed to do some moving. I did wrist curls and arm circles and a few other easy movements. emoticon I had 5 minutes in!
I started walking back to my apartment and was noticing how pretty the door decorations were for this floor. There was no tobacco air! emoticon so I decided I might try to do some hall emoticon My COPD book says to start even with 1 minute, I made it 8 minutes and 86 calories burnt. emoticon
I think I will go for a few minutes on the recumbent next. I get so tired with my breathing but it is feeling good to get some things started again and find some new ideas!
Have a great Sparkling Day!

Good for you. I too have COPD, but you can and will build up, by starting slow and staying with it. Steady and strong, you new words for the weeks. Good job!

Great idea! It's funny how, once you start noticing them, you see that sprinkled all throughout your day there are little snippets of time that you could put to good use.
